The Complex Gentleman's Guide for Young Men Who Wish To Look Fresh and Exude Coolness - Fall Fashions

So today I went to the newstand inside my building to get some chapstick (very important to have fellas) and I was excited to see that a new issue of GQ was out. What excited me even more was the cover...

Always cool to see MJ on the cover of magazines. I don't know what they mean by "When Michael was Cool". Michael's always been cool. But I digress.

As you know GQ is one of my many inspirations for this blog so I always turn to it for advice. In this issue they preview a lot of fall fashions that will be the hot new trends of the season. Fall is always a cool time for style. The colder weather means you have to wear more layers and this gives you an opportunity to add some variety to your outfits. Fall means jackets, scarves, hats gloves, sweaters and the list goes on. These are all new outlets to get fly with.

Reading the article got me thinking about clothes I'm going to start rocking once the leaves change colors. Cardigans have come into style recently for men. The look is becoming a little oversaturated with everybody wearing them, but they are just undeniably cool so I'll still wear them. To change it up I might look for more Doublebreasted Cardigans because they have a different look. Maybe even a cardigan with a hood like the one pictured above. Another Fall clothing item I'm looking forward to is the jacket. Light jackets are great for the fall. They aren't too bulky like winter jackets so they can become a functional part of your outfit. Some Jackets can be the whole outfit if they are fly enough. The last couple things I'm looking forward to rocking are Scarves and Newspaper Boy Caps. I really dig scarves because I think accessories are important for an outfit. Scarves can be worn many ways and if you buy clothing to actually keep you warm instead of just looking good, they do a pretty good job of that too.

Newspaper Boy Caps go well in the fall. I like them because they have a very classic look and are different from the everyday baseball cap. They come in many different styles so choose the one that best suits you. I tend to pick ones with darker colors.

I know this is another installment of The Guide so I'm supposed to leave you with some advice on what to do. These selections are my personal favorties for fall and you don't necessarily have to follow them. What I will say though is you should buy early. Whatever you plan on wearing for fall, you should start looking in stores now. Prices are usually cheaper and you get first dibs on selcetion. Once you get your items you can keep em in cold storage until the weather gets cooler.

Follow these rules and you'll be Looking Fresh and Exuding Coolness in no time.

Trust me...I'm a Gentleman
